clinical pharmacology for lactobacillus
Lactobacillus Bacid® | Flora-Q™ | L. Reuteri Chewable Tablets | Lactinex™ | Lactinex® | Probiotica®
For the treatment of uncomplicated diarrhea† or to re-establish normal physiologic and bacterial flora of the intestinal tract: Oral dosage (Bacid® containing >= 500 million units Lactobacillus acidophilus per capsule): Adults and children: 2 capsules PO 2—4 times per day. Oral dosage (Culturelle® containing 10 billion units Lactobacillus GG per capsule): Adults: 1 capsule PO twice daily while taking antibiotic therapy; continue for one week after stopping antibiotic therapy. Children and infants: ½ to 1 capsule PO once daily. Oral dosage (DDS®-Acidophilus containing 1 billion units Lactobacillus acidophilus strain DDS-1 per capsule or 2 billion units per gram of powder): Adults: 1—2 capsules or ¼ teaspoon powder PO twice daily before meals. Oral dosage (Lactinex® containing Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus): Adults and children: 4 chewable tablets or 1 packet of granules PO 3—4 times per day. Oral dosage (L, Reuteri™ chewable tablets containing 100 million units Lactobacillus reuteri per tablet): Adults and children >= 2 years: Take 1 chewable tablet PO once daily. Use only as directed. Oral dosage (MoreDophilus® containing 4 billion units carrot-derived Lactobacillus acidophilus per gram of powder): Adults: 1 teaspoon powder PO once daily with liquid. Oral dosage (Primadophilus Reuteri™ capsules containing 100 million units Lactobacillus reuteri per capsule): Adults and children >= 2 years: Take 1 capsule PO once daily.
